PRETTY MAIDS Frontman Hospitalized After Suffering Blow To Head; DVD Shoot Canceled
March 27, 2018Vocalist Ronnie Atkins of Danish hard rockers PRETTY MAIDS has been hospitalized in Basel, Switzerland after suffering an unfortunate blow to the head. He is currently undergoing tests and being observed by specialists.
According to Ronnie's bandmates: "The latest news is that he is conscious but has to remain in hospital for a while. As a consequence of this, we have to cancel the last three shows on our tour. Once Ronnie is fully recovered, we will come back and play these shows and film the scheduled DVD.
"We apologize for this and know you guys travel far to come to these shows. Our main concern at this time is Ronnie's health."
PRETTY MAIDS was scheduled to film its DVD and Blu-ray on March 30 in Zlin, Czech Republic. The band was planning to perform its classic album "Future World" in its entirety as well as other songs spanning the group's nearly four-decade career.
PRETTY MAIDS' 15th studio album, the Jacob Hansen-produced "Kingmaker", was released in November of 2016 via Frontiers Music Srl. The album debuted at No. 35 on the German chart, making it the group's highest-charting release in the country since 1990's "Jump The Gun".
The band's next album will be their first with drummer Allan Sørensen, who joined the group last year.
